I thought about that myself for a minute. What we might be seeing is not a bursting cafe, but rather a volcanic coffee explosion. Think three feet of coffee on the floor with the rest hitting the roof (and mushrooming out).

Aquarius is the astrological symbol of the water-bearer, often depicted as pouring water from a vessel (which never appears to run dry). Thus the reference in the comic to Aquarius being the water provider for the sports team in school, and her coffee pot never running out.
