so I heard there's no new episodes until january 19...dang...anyway have a comic, I promise some chrysalis on the next one.

And she sends every day two books how to bring up fillies. And additional every week an essay about her research about sexuality, fillies and responsibility. Every two week Shining and Cadence will be tested to show their progress.

I really don't get why all comics just automatically assume that Shining would be against the idea of having kids, but meh, makes for a good joke setup.

Dunno, most of the comics I've seen that have the subject of "Cadance and Shining having kids" as their focus seem to assume that to be the case. Doesn't make much sense for the character, but then a lot of comics have Celestia and/or Luna as unrepentant trolls, so yeah, I think it's mostly just a "for the sake of a laugh" thing.

I've seen it a couple places too. I think it's a tongue in cheek "guy thing" and since SA's the only male in the show with lines past "eeyup" he gets stuck in a bit of a "everyman" role.

The kids thing is because well... come on! They're tiny, unemployed and cost a ton of money. They're symbols of never getting to do anything fun again. Much like commitment. Which is the first sign of never getting to do anything fun again.
Emotions are just weird things women have. Surveys world wide confirm that most men think rubbing some dirt on whatever they are would probably help.

I have a cunning plan!
What if we encourage women to be more like men? (The reverse is just stupid of course.) We can make hem just as aggressive, lustful and emotionless. Then everyone will be equal. Everyone will shed 'manly tears' which are better than the normal tears women are always dropping everywhere. (It's terrible, I wanted to go out last Tuesday, but then I saw a cute kitten photo and was overwhelmed for hours with sobbing!)
