hey guys remember when I told you about my worst nightmare? NO? did I mention that it had lots of leeches? what? NO? oh! did you know there's a movie called "the attack of the giant leeches?" go and watch it.bonus if you know what it feels to have a leech sucking your blood ....goddammit!

They do, usually when they have to remove blood from a congested extremity.Β Sometimes when digits and limbs are reattached, there's congestion by blood rather than inflammation.Β The swelling risks pinching off blood supply and killing the tissue.
Medical leeches are bred clean and used to drain the extra blood and restore flow to the tissue.

I though they do to prevent internal bleeding, clots and stuff. why did they stop using leeches for medical things?

I guess they stopped because it's cheaper with medicine? And perhaps more affective?
At least I think so. Perhaps is some countries they still use it. I know for sure they don't in Sweden.

ive had a leech lach on to my back where i couldnt reach it... it was hell..... i ended up stripping in the middle of the nurses offices in front of 2 boys cuz the nurses were too busy talking to pay attention. that grabbed their attention.

i dont know what it feels like for a leech to suck your blood,ive heard its quite painless...until you peel them off,i hear that is INCREDIBLY painful...

It can be, but that's because you aren't supposed to peel them off. It is best to let them finish and drop off on their own but if you must remove them then you are supposed to use your fingernail or something like that to carefully break the suction and remove the mouth (small) end before grabbing it and throwing it away from you. You may wish to carry a butter knife or expired/empty store gift card for doing so if you don't have good fingernails. Peeling/yanking them off is not only much more likely to leave a (small) permanent scar but can cause them to actually vomit into the bite (as can using salt or a lit match/cigarette).
