Chiba Mamoru, known as Darien Shields in the American dub, is a character from a popular Shoujo anime called "Sailor Moon" which was a big damn deal in the mid-to-late-nineties and some portion of the early 2000s. His "secret" identity (in quoties because it was only secret to the certifiably retarded denizens of the fictional world) was Tuxedo Kamen (Tuxedo Mask in the english). He had a habit of showing up when the girls were about to get themselves deaded because of their own stunning incompetence and save them... with flowers!

I'm not making any of this up, though I may be adding unfair commentary.
