If you live outside the Chicago area,you may not be familiar with this elfen trio...they were created for Hardrock,Coco And Joe:The Three Little Dwarfs,a 1950s stop-motion short film created by designer,sculptor and sometimes animator Wah Ming Chang. Through repeated holiday-season viewings on WGN-TV,the short became a Chicago institution. Admittedly,before watching Bozo,Gar And Ray a few years ago,I'd never heard of it. Even the MST3K reference in Prince Of Space was lost on me.

Trivia: among his many accomplishments,Wah Ming Chang created the Pinocchio puppet used by Walt Disney's animators as a reference model,the headdress worn by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra,the Time Machine from the 1960 George Pal movie of the same name and the communicators used on the original Star Trek.
