An Obama/Hope-style image inspired by the final panel of the Wally Wood-illustrated Gookum!,from MAD #2 (Dec. '52/Jan. '53)...a comical,four armed humanoid alien lands on Earth and,over dinner,relates to the press the story of his escape from his home planet,and the menace of the gookum,a red gelatinous substance that lay dormant in pools outside the walls of the capitol city;after many years,the gookum came to life and began devouring everything in its path,with seemingly no way to stop it or even slow it down. As the alien is brought his dessert,he concludes his tale...only to recoil in terror at the cherry-jello parfait that has been set before him. Guess why.
