Light editing done to bring contrast up, due to taking picture in poor-light environment.

Sometimes just zoning out with a pen and paper can produce results, with enough time. Got this done in three 6-hour periods of continuously drawing on a 6" X 9" paper.

As for a piece to go along with it...

The grasp of the neuron picking away at the quantum threads,
Yet prevails with a sense of dread,
The black oil that runs amuck,
The dark viscera to which the tendrils are stuck,
A mind in the making piece by piece,
We only see one tiny part of the beast.
