This is very good and very unique, which I guess makes it more special to your girl 
You know I think one thing that 3D modelers struggle with (more easily noticed in game screenshots) is that a character or object that is on the ground doesn't actually look like it's on the ground, ifyou know what I mean. It adds a much greater sense of realism to it. And although I've been trying to figure out what it is for ages -- whether it's the shadows, ground deail, or something else -- that can actually make it look real, I haven't completely found an answer yet. But, surprisingly, yours is very well done. It's not perfect (nothing is) but it looks very near to. So congrats.

The colors and textures are realy sweet an also I'm impressed with the amount of the depth of field.
