Chapter 26 – Adam.

A drunken boy with shaggy blonde hair plopped down beside me and smiled cheekily, "Hi."

I raised an eyebrow, "Hi?"

"Wanna share a joint?"

"Um…" I glanced up at Red, she shrugged, "As long as she can too…"

The boy squinted at Red, looking suddenly aware, nodding, "Okay, sure."

He stood and stumbled drunkenly outside, we followed closely.

The boy turned to us and tried unsuccessfully to work his lighter, "I'm Adam."

Red smiled and took his lighter, flicking it for him, "I'm Red, this is Brooke."

Adam grinned, his eyes barely open, "Hi Brooke."

I smiled, "Hi."

My hello was answered by a large puff of white smoke escaping from between Adam's lips.

When we went back inside, the world was cloudy. The voices were muffled and everything seemed to tickle, even the air. I giggled.

Red looked at me and laughed, "Your eyes are soooo red Brooke."

I snickered, "Yours too… hehe… Red's eyes are red…"

We both burst into a fit of laughter and I crawled into her lap, grinning like a mad fool.

Adam, stoned and drunk right off his pedestal, pulled out a little black camera and told us to pose.

We took a few silly pictures. We were having a blast. Adam lifting me up, Red tackling me to the floor, me riding on Red's back, and a picture of all three of us flipping the camera off.

All of the sudden, Adam grabbed my face and kissed me hard on the lips, snapping a picture.

His lips were cold and slimy and tasted like beer. I gagged for half a second.

Adam noticed and raised an eyebrow, Red just stared at him, looking angry.

"What's wrong?" He slurred, resting an arm around my shoulder and leaning all his weight on me. I swayed slightly and stumbled back, catching my balance on a nearby chair.

"Don't do that…" I whispered, Red looked hurt.

Adam looked bewildered, "What? Why not."

"Because I don't like guys…" I confessed, pulling away from him and hugging Red's arm, "And my girlfriend is here…"

Adam laughed like it was a joke, "Okay, let's get a picture of you two kissing then. To prove it."

I shrugged and leaned my arms around Red's shoulders, to my surprise, she pulled away.

I felt my heart snap, or maybe it was the flash on the camera. Either way, it hurt.

Red stared down at me, "No…"

"No?"

"No." She concluded, turning and walking away.
