Walking home at night may have been as normal as usual, but for me, it wasn't. Not this time. This time, I had finally had the guts to ask Margaret out, accomplishing a task that had been eating my insides out for a long time. But, soon enough, I had proposed for Margaret and I to spend some well-deserved time together at the movies. I thanked my lucky stars that she agreed, because if she hadn't I would probably be embarrassed out my ass at the current time, playing Strong Johns and eating popcorn with Rigby back at the house.
Speaking of which, I thought to myself as I strode down the paved sidewalk idly, I wonder how that little sucker's doing? I had to give the guy credit, I mean, he helped me ask Margaret out in the first place. Sure, he was kind of pushy about it, and he acted like a jerk for the majority of the time, but I knew he needed to have some props.
As soon as I reached the park it seemed like it took only a few seconds before I could see the house as a tiny speck of glows. Weird, the lights were on. Benson would be so angry if he found out that Rigby was wasting power at 12:47 at night. I walked somewhat slowly, until I noticed the flashing blue and red lights.
I broke into a sprint. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me down to where the lights were coming from. An ambulance and a police car. Benson, Pops, and Skips were standing by the vehicles, their expressions filled with sadness. Where was Rigby?
Oh, shit. Oh, shit.
As soon as I could reach their regions of hearing I asked, "What happened?!"
Skips slowly spoke up as I ran to stand next to him, his stale voice piercing my conscience,
"...Rigby."
Dammit. Dammit.
I searched the scenery, an ambulance, a few paramedics and a stretcher that they were loading into the ambulance. My heart began to beat ten times faster than it normally did, and my breathing became short.
"Rigby...! Where is he?!" I turned to my boss, "Where is Rigby?"
Benson looked down, bereft, "...He was sad that you left him alone."
"What?"
"...He got ahold of the cooking knife," He replied hesitantly.
My eyes widened and I ran into the house. It was true, he did get his hands on the knife. I entered the kitchen and laid my eyes upon a blue sheet covering a body, with a hand excluded from the covering. From the hand's wrist, blood seeped through a thinly-cut gash. Rigby.
Oh, no no no no no.
Warm tears seeped out of my eyes and rolled down my face as my best friend's corpse lay in front of me. I immediately remembered what Rigby had said to me only a few hours ago, before my date had actually begun.
"Well, you two have fun with your little chick-flick without me. I'll be sure to save some soda for you."
As a matter of fact, he did. I glanced over to the coffeetable in front of the couch only to find a half-consumed two-liter of Diet Coke. He saved it for me.
And I had killed him.
I fell to my knees and I could hear faintly Pops' cries from outside. I couldn't believe what was happening. Just because of some... stupid date, my best friend was dead.
I was such an idiot. Idiot idiot idiot.
One of the officers had the courtesy to escort me out in the kindest way he could muster. I stood in a daze, shaking as I watched the men take Rigby away.
My Rigby. They were taking away my Rigby.
There was no way in hell I would let them separate us now.

hot damn, this took forever and my internet kept shutting off.

I love how I drew the picture in about seventeen minutes, but the writing took me, like, thirty.
and I even missed some parts that aren't colored..
But, I shouldn't be complaining.
No school for two days
Also, I watched an episode of Gumball this morning. It was really cute<3 I might draw him sooner or later, but whatever. I feel like nachos,
