Description
Here's a Colored version The Elizabeth Hartman Portrait done in Inkscape.History:
On December 23th, 1943. Mary Elizabeth Hartman was born in Youngstown Ohio, When The United States was still in the Second World War. When she was a teenager in Youngstown, she would often attend small theater groups so she can earn more experience in Acting. So she can do well in the Entertainment Industry. In Her 20's when she got to Hollywood California, she was able to prove to her employers her Acting abilities. In the hopes of landing a role in a movie. Because of this Elizabeth earned the lead role as Selina D'Arcey. The Blind girl from "A Patch of Blue " (1965) based on the novel " Be Ready with bells and Drums" written by Elizbeth Kata. Before Production started for the movie, Elizabeth went to The Braille Institute of America to do some Research on Blind People. To observe how people behave when their eyes are no longer working. She has also been cast in other movies such as.
Priss Hartshorn Crockett From "The Group" (1966)
Barbara Darling From "You're a Big boy Now" (1966)
Edwina From "The Beguiled" (1971)
Pauline Pusser From "Walking Tall" (1973)
In the Late 1970's Elizabeth began to have her acting career decline. Which caused her to go into a depression and she couldn't make the problem go away. In 1982 she would attend her very last role as the voice of the widowed field mouse named Mrs. Brisby from "The Secret of NIMH". After this she moved from Hollywood to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to work in a museum near the downtown area. Sadly a few months later her depression took control and she jumped out of the fifth floor of her apartment building, killing herself in the process. She died at the age of 43 in the year 1987. Thus marking the end of Elizabeth Hartman.
Personal Thoughts:
Now when it comes to actors and actress who were born in the 20th century there are some people who still remember them to this day such as Shelley Winters, Clint Eastwood, Burt Reynolds, Carrie Fisher and Michael J, Fox. But theres one actress that not many people remembered and thats her. When I first saw her in "A Patch of Blue" and heard her voice in "The Secret of NIMH" I thought she was the cutest actress who ever stepped foot in the entertainment industry. But as we all know, she only spend 17 years involved the industry before she passed away. Overall there are some actors/actress' that deserve remembrances and she is one of them.
