After a year-long hiatus, I'm back to DeviantArt. This is my "hello" to the platform: created with Krita, this drawing of a mermaid required about 8 hours of work. What do you think of it? Let me know!Related content

I'd first like to say how wonderful this piece is. The pose is very dynamic and unique. The water is drawn and colored very good, and I like the effect the water has on the body.
The anatomy is pretty decent, the only criticisms are that if the face is supposed to be facing forward then the nose should be facing forward as well, the nose on the face looks like it's facing 3/4. Also, the connection between the tail and the fin looks broken.
The coloring can have some work done on it too, the actual pallet is not bad with turquoise and green. The shading is okay but on the face, the shadows are too saturated, and the body has a darker value than the face which does not match the right lighting. The colored line art works on the water and skin, but with everything else where it's yellow, it would work better if the color is darker. Between the lines and the colors there are these pixels which could be distracting up close. I have never tried krita but you could either; mess with the settings on the selection tools so that it wont leave those pixels, or do clipping masks.
Some places look messy and could benefit from some cleanup.

I love how you made them in such a nice pose! The expression is very cool as well and all the colors go together well! The only criticism I can find is that the stomach and tail seem a little thin, but that's all!
