I have previously done a deviation that lists all the type combinations that never were unique: www.deviantart.com/curioususer…

Some of these would've been the case had Pokemon which had their type combinations changed been that way at the time:

*Igglybuff/Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff - They were all introduced before Azurill in Gen III.

*Clefairy/Cleffable - They were all introduced before Snubull/Granbull and Togepi in Gen II (in addition to Clefairy's pre-evoluition Cleffa).

*Mr. Mime - It was introduced before Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir in Gen III.

*Mawille - It was introduced before Klefki in Gen VI.

*Registeel - There are no other Pokemon and Pokemon Forms that were around at the time of Gen III.

I really could've put in some more Pokemon since there's another line of Normal types from Gen I that could've been given the fairy type upon introduction, not to mention other Pokemon that are water and grass types which could've been given the fairy type as well upon introduction.

These meanwhile are Pokemon that could've had unique type combinations had at the time still to be introduced typings been around at the time:

What I mentioned all comes from what I have provided in these deviations of Pokemon that could potentially gain Sound and Cosmic typings:

*Slowpoke/Slowbro/Slowking - Since Starmie is believed to do away with the psychic typing to become a cosmic type.

*Azurill - Since Igglybuff/Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff and Mega Audino are believed to do away with the normal typing to become sound types.

*Inkay/Malamar - Since Hoopa Unbond Form is believed to do away with the psychic typing to become a cosmic type.

*Terraikon's Paradox Pokemon - Since Solrock and Lunatone are believed to do away with the psychic typing to become cosmic types.

Let's hope that by the time sound and cosmic typings become a thing, there could be some new Pokemon with the type combinations of Normal/Fairy, Psychic/Dark and Rock/Psychic so that they won't end up being unique.
