Aw, the Green with the little Blue is so adorable. It really gets the motherly feeling across so the firelizard was a great addition.

When I first got into the books I read the White Dragon first, so I've always pictured them looking like the cover of that book. ^^

Ah. Interesting. xD I've seen a few books covers where the dragons have frilly spines on their face... it's like the artist only heard "dragon" and nothing else.

I'm just really not a fan of the head knobs. I think it makes them look much more alien, and less graceful and beautiful. Looking back on my books, most of them don't have the knobs in the art, and it's only Dragonseye and the Dolphins of Pern that have the dragons drawn in that style, and it's definitely the ugliest art.

This artist, for example, makes them look very sleep and beautiful I think.
I, personally, just try to draw them as accurately to the book descriptions as I can. =3
And the Dolphin's of Pern's face just looks like a giant BUG! In Dragonseye the head is too big. xD

As much as I like Kaiser flames, I really just don't like the look of the head knobs or the way she does the Pernese dragon's neck either, but that's just a matter of taste. I also don't do the multifaceted eyes because I think it makes them look a little too bug-like. Kaiser makes them look a little too cow/horse-like for my taste. If I could draw them exactly like Whelan, I would. *___*

Nope, my copy of Dragonsinger has a much uglier cover. It like this weir evil-looking dragon with a massive head, beak, SCALES, and loads of wier stringlike things coming off it. And it's this phlegm-yellow color with pink undertones.
