SMG4 Mario wanted to see the new Mario movie so badly, he Backwards Long-Jumped out of the van and all the way through a portal that led him to the 2023 Mario Movie universe. After knocking out his movie counterpart, Mario met with Luigi and wound up in that universe's version of the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario soon bumped into Donkey Kong and was forced to fight him after messing up a Kong party, during the fight, Mario was knocked into a pile of barrels and he got his hands on a Cat Bell.
