Description
The hype is too real, I couldn't resist. She's a shameless self-insert and I deliberately tried not to make a "spiderman" and more of a "spidersona". I might try and design something that could be a feasible spiderperson but this was pure self indulgence.SpiderSplash hails from universe 4719, a world where the quarrels between Atlantians and humans got a little out of hand and the world was partially flooded. Thanks to the indomitable human spirit, the humans that remained built their cities higher and adapted to the now flooded world. Splash lives in the Earth equivalent of San Francisco which now towers high over the water's surface deep below.
After the flood, human scientists rapidly began work on evolving our technologies to better handle the new environments. Animal testing of these amphibious adaptations quickly rushed in an era of haphazard experimentation. One such experiment was the classic mutated spider, one that they were attempting to imbue with the ability to create organic, hydrophobic webs. While they succeeded, they only found out after a mysterious spider themed superhero began cleaning up crime with the exact kind of webs they were hoping to achieve. They quickly started a public campaign against the new heroine after she refused to be used as a test subject to continue the research. The city is torn on the masked crusader. Many love the work she does, making peace between the new atlantian inhabitants and the still standing humans, cleaning the crime off the streets and currents, and her general regard for all life. The other argument sees her as selfish for undermining the police as well as her refusal to be tested. The city is split but Splash believes what she's doing is right.
Racing against the clock, she works to find out the reason behind her webs. She hopes if she can crack the code, the scientists after her can finally see her side of the story. But how long will their patience hold? They can only send so many villians after her before things turn serious. Can she balance the every day woes of your average college student, the precipice of a scientific breakthrough, and the responsibility of the spider mantle?
