I used to take pictures of everything

My innocent mind found so many things beautiful,
so many things needed to be documented and I loved it.
I was praised high and low for my creative mind.

Missing those times is a certainty,
but when I think back to the last thing I photographed
I don't see the misguided comfort of adult lies.

I see beauty in a silhouette not meant to contain it.
I see darkness in the shadows that contoured your face,
Making your slight frown look like cloudy skies.
I see you, the you that isn't clear to average bystanders.

Blackness overpowered by whiteness, bathing your features in soft light.
I reckon that I am wild, but when we parted I felt docile.
A rainstorm calmed to a gentle breeze, and you.

Oh God. I don't know how you felt.

I am not good; how you ever found a home in the curve of my neck or bathed in the pools of my mind, I don't know.
How you ever came to enjoy my company is a mystery to me.

I don't know anymore.
