Merry Critmas from the Samurai Snowmen!

This is a lovely and interesting dryad. I like each individual texture of her skin, her leafy hair and that crook staff. But the horns could stand out more, the third eye in her forehead looks more like a wound, and her face is almost too human in a photo-shopped and wide-eyed emotionless way. I'm kind of curious why she has so many different kinds of skin texture. Maybe she's the Frankenstein monster of nature? I also don't understand her “clothes.” Since she's so tree-like, why have humanoid sexual characteristics at all and why hide them like a modest human? Actually it would be kind of cute if she had her seeds hanging from the side of her head like earrings. The squirrel is a fun addition and her magic looks okay.

The right half of the image feels empty, despite being a bright forest. The sense of depth and distance is very good but otherwise I don't see anything to think about. The fore-most tree though is a little strange, in that its roots seem exposed and I can see what looks like light underneath. Maybe the tree is animated and walking on its roots? But other than that oddly central hole (the perfect height and size for an eye-hole) I don't get a feeling that the tree is alive.

Vision: A dryad posing in a forest.

Originality: The choice of skin texture and hair feels original, along with that staff.

Technique: The mix of light and shadow is very good, as is the detail and overall quality.

Impact: A strong color theme yet the dryad sticks out well with her confident pose. But she leaves me with not much to think about.

Interesting take on a Dryad, very elemental.
