This is the first part of a new series of drawings based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, entitled "The Mutants of Ninjitsu"

We have the crime-fighting, pizza loving heroes in the half shell themselves mutated from normal baby turtles in the sewers by a mysterious purple ooze and raised and trained in the art of ninjitsu in secret by their rat sensei/father Splinter...

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The intrepid and confident leader of the four brothers.

Donatello
The dry-humored techie and brains of the team.
Color: Purple
Weapon: Bo, Tech-Bo

Raphael
The hot-headed muscle of the team who is cool but rude.
Color: Red
Weapon: Sai
Voice: Ben Diskin

Michelangelo
The fun-loving, skateboarding, surfer-like party dude.
Color: Orange
Weapon: Nunchaku
Voice: Scott McCord

For my take on the turtles, I borrowed design elements from their 2012 incarnations (their different green skin tones), as well as the live action movies and Rise of the TMNT (their builds and accessories)

Also, in this series, to ensure their friend April's safety, they enroll in her high school, disguised as human teenagers thanks to Donnie's holographic disguise tech.
