Samus is a badass bounty hunter. There's no problem inviting her to Smash, but I don't think someone all tough and serious like her would enjoy participating in a silly old kart race. She has far more important things to do.
I can see Nintendo adding 70,000,000,000 Tamagotchi characters and more clones than the galactic empire before adding Samus.

Too bad the programming on it was terrible. Goomdaddy's engine was ok, but very limited, I couldn't do much.
