When Megatron and his legion came to Earth, they found a cave full of Dark Energon (The anti to Energon), so when he contacted his legion, he ordered them to drill the crystals and being them back to the Nemesis (Megatrons Ship). When Soundwave arrived, he was able to copy the genetics of Dark Energon and multiply them to an unlimited amount. But when Soundwave did his research about the creatures on this planet, he realized that there are not only humans but hedgehogs as well, Soundwave copied their genetics and combined the genetics with the Dark Energon Cubes to create a Dark Energon Hedgehog, full of Dark Energy. Megatron soon developed a plan to take down Optimus and gain the Matrix once and for all. For the final battle Megatron absorbed the Dark Energon. But to a very bad outcome, Megatron soon lost control of himself and went power hungry. He nearly killed Optimus but failed. He's still out there...searching for more Dark Energon...
