Description Taken in Downtown Houston with an old (1971) fully manual Nikkormat camera and a 28-70 zoom lens. Hand printed in the darkroom by me on Ilford warmtone fiber paper.

(I had to stand on my tip-toes to get the pigeon positioned right in the middle and not overlap with the column or archway - I'm surprised it didn't come out blurry.)

Throwing my agreement in here: this is arguably my favorite piece in your gallery. Powerful and skillful capture.

Just.. wow. There's a nice gradient of black to gray to white, the silhouette is perfect, and I love the feel of that chain just breaking through the frame.

This is a wonderful representation of line and form, too, what with the charmingly abstract shapes surrounding the bird. The asymmetry is fantastic. Wonderful interpretation of positive and negative spaces.

It looks fairly mysterious, as if a frame from Hithcock's movie of the same subject.

agree with above - i rarely have the patience for silhouette shots, this is one of the few ive seen that is freakin awesome. the black space makes for a great composition..

i cannot believe no one has left any comments on this shot. it stands out as one of the most unique in your gallery. silhouette shots are so hard to do well.
