This is the one I submitted earlier but cropped to get rid of the flower in the lower right corner. I still left it at 1024 x 768 b/c I still like it as a wallpaper... hope you do too!(By the way - the flower is called liatris spicata 'Kobold' or commonly called Gay Feather or Blazing Star).

there's nothing to take away from the beauty of the flower.the detail is really stunning...
it looks like a mess - not a flower...it's sort of weird. I don't know how to explain it. when someone say's flowers conventionally, you'd imagine some rose or tulip or something.
this is just another reminder that there are things that break rules and stereotypes.
I'll have to try it as a wallpaper.

i like this version a little more. beautiful colors, and of course the shallow DOF emphasizes the focus on it.
