2380. The quadrant is in turmoil like never before. After peace talks led by Captain William Riker and his Romulan allies fail, the ruined Romulan Empire collapses into full scale civil war as aggressive systems bid for control of the Empire's resources.

Seizing advantage, the Cardassian Union has abandoned all treaties, invading the fragmented empire in a desperate attempt to regain supremacy within the quadrant. Its weapon of choice, the stolen Super Dreadnought, the UWS Starlance.

Faced with total war, the United Federation of Planets and her allies declare a state of emergency. In an unprecedented move, never before seen, Starfleet has recalled all ships of exploration, shutdown all non essential science stations, and scrambles to protect its borders from invasion.
