Aaaalrighty, I'm finally back into the swing of actually doing proper things and thinking up ideas, haha! It feels so good to draw and actually enjoy doing it, I haven't looked forward to working on and finishing anything in a fair while. Streaming a little bit more recently has definitely helped and is a lot of fun!

That being said, this is something a few of you might have seen me working on in my stream, and this is a new project that expands on an old concept of mine, which is that of the Splinter Deities:

I've since decided that it would better suit the deities to be called "Fragmented Deities", so you'll note that I refer to them as such in this description. Anyways, to explain what's going on here, it'll make more sense to read the below section, but to summarize, this set here is Mephiles in a variety of forms that a Fragmented Deity can take on, with design ideas being based on a variety of the multiple Deities established from canon in this roster. Definitely a lot of fun to work on, but very time consuming! I've found a rather pleasant and simple style to work with.

After this set, I plan to give the same treatment to the rest of the Fragments, so in the end there will be a good 56 little drawings to show off! After which I'd like to make up a chart properly aligning everything together. For now enjoy the project piece by piece!

Fairy
Now first up this design is based on Lumina Flowlight from Sonic Shuffle. To explain the form, I treat the Fairy as a technical initial default of a Primordial Deity's Fragmenting. It is the base manifestation of a Fragment taking on sentient life- do note that it is only within the Maginaryworld can Fairies exist untainted, I'll explain more on this later. Like Lumina's design looks like a simplified chibi Illumina, I've done the same here with Mephiles' Fairy form, taking on a humanoid appearance like his full self, Solaris.

Titan - Restrained
Just like the Fairy form for Lumina, the second form is based on that of Void from Sonic Shuffle as well. The Restrained Titan form is also a form that is exclusive to the Maginaryworld- to explain this idea further, the Maginaryworld exists entirely separate from the physical realm, also known as the Chaos Dimension, and acts as an origin point for the Primordial Deities, and where Illumina, and (initially) Solaris reside. In the Maginaryworld, the realm is set apart from the natural layer of Chaos Energy that exists in the Chaos Dimension.

As a result, these first two forms are "pure" in a sense that they are not susceptible to Chaos Energy mutation. The Titan is an alternate initial form of a Fragment's manifestation. It varies however from the base Fairy form, as the Titan is distorted by strong emotions (usually with negative connotation but not always). In this case, they draw upon powers that may seem a bit unnatural and makes them susceptible to losing their sense of duty. This version of the Titan however is a compression of the next form.

Titan - Unleashed
An Unleashed Titan is the true form of a Titan, and the form that is recognizable in many of the Fragmented Deities (examples include Void in his monster form, Iblis in all three physical stages, Dark Gaia in both her base and Perfect forms, and Mephiles himself as shown here). The Unleashed Titan draws upon the full power of a Fragment's energy, no matter where a Fragment is located (possible to attain both in the Maginaryworld and in the Chaos Dimension- however the latter may require the assistance of Chaos Emeralds or other power source in order to attain further power).

Mobini
Moving on from the base forms, the next few forms are mutations due to exposure to the Chaos Dimension's natural layer of Chaos Energy. This particular form is based on that of Chip from Sonic Unleashed. This form is very much like the initial Fairy form, however due to separation from the Maginaryworld and exposure to Chaos Energy, the Fragment takes on an animal-esque mutation. The Mobini form is not fully formed however, usually only occurring when prematurely awakened (ala Chip in Sonic Unleashed), or formed naturally from the onset. Possesses minimal power.

Mobian
A form most would be familiar with and one that doesn't actually have a canon example with regards the scope of the Fragment deities I'm working with. This is the result of a Fragment having fully calibrated to the Chaos Dimension's natural flow of energy; They still possess great power, but have become in a sense, "mortal" and follow the same mortal restrictions. Physically abides by the same rules as other Mobian bodies.

Revenant
This form is quite the favourite, and is of course based on the crystalline form of Mephiles himself- however in this instance formed of his own frame rather than taking on the appearance of Shadow the Hedgehog as per Sonic 06. Since the onset of my thinking of this particular form's purpose I've since restructured my idea behind it, now detailing the form by the name "Revenant". It relates back to a previous idea I was working on with regards Shadow the Hedgehog taking on a similar crystalline form Mephiles displayed upon unleashing his powers. This idea actually displays Shadow's working body after he put death to self and attained further power past his Mobian physical restrictions.

In this case, when a Fragment has taken on a Mobian form and unable to attain further power than their bodies are restricted to- upon death of self their body would crystallize and allow for further intake of Chaos Energy, essentially harnessing the powers around them. Irreparable once the damage has been done but can be masked.

Carrion
I've been playing around with this particular idea for a while in order to try and make some particular ideas work clearer. The Carrion is as the name suggests- the rotting flesh of a Fragment. A Carrion is a unique "form" and occurs when a Fragment's raw power has become forcefully cleaved from it's mind and spirit, becoming a sentient life of it's own. As exampled here, Mephiles' Carrion is that of the Time Eater, who after Solaris' destruction at the end of 06 has become a wandering mass of chronal energy. Other examples I identify a Carrion are Black Doom and Mother Wisp from Argus' Fragments who have become extraterrestrial lifeforms and fractured into their own respective races, and The Ifrit as being the Carrion for Iblis post-06- they literally "carry on" after death, hahaha.

Okay, so it's past 1 in the morning here and I'm mostly just determined to get this posted up before I sleep- so there may be some errors in the description here and there and things I might have forgotten, so I'll update this again later on. In the mean time I'm going to relax a little bit until I start the next set, which I've actually set up a poll for you guys to decide which you would like to see next of the remaining 7 Fragments!
