Description
This is a Chrysler. I know, doesn't even look like one at all at first glance. However, this indeed is a Chrysler underneath but with its body styled by famed Italian design house Carrozzeria Ghia. This was a fairly common practice back in the day; Italian design houses/coachbuilders taking an American car and then rewrapping it in sheetmetal carved from their own beautiful and sultry design. The reason why these were done was simple; Italian cars had more of their reputation for being mechanical PITAs so instead of designing a beautiful car which would eventually find itself on the side of the road with the hood up, they would instead resort to American cars such as Fords, Chevys, or Chryslers with their much more reliable powertrains.
