Hmm...looks like it's based on the FN F2000. ^_^ If it only uses 9mm rounds, though, why is the magazine so wide? It looks like it would use a rifle caliber, like the 5.56 or something.

When, I was planning on making this as a submachine gun, but I guess I didn't realize that the magazine was to wide. I guess, I just overlooked it. Silly me.

As has been mentioned, the mag doesn't look like it's 9mm, but overall I like it. The new style texture is pretty awesome.

Reminiscent of the FN-2000. A few fine design.

The only real comment I have is that the magazine looks a bit too wide for a standard 9mm round. It seems more suited to an intermediate cartridge.

Gauntes In reply to ??? [2012-04-07 04:29:03 +0000 UTC]

Not too big fan of bullpup designs, but this works pretty well

though, the magazine makes it look more like an assault rifle rather than a submachine gun

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

prodoomer1 In reply to Gauntes [2015-01-17 16:08:25 +0000 UTC]

It's not an smg, it's a PDW

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gauntes In reply to prodoomer1 [2015-01-17 21:02:26 +0000 UTC]

when this was posted (3 years ago) description read submachine gun

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Hoborginc In reply to Gauntes [2012-04-07 16:55:50 +0000 UTC]

Intermediate cartridge PDW's are a legitimate concept, as shown by the Magpul PDR, XM8 Compact, and SCAR PDW.

Of course, the ballistic advantages/disadvantages are debatable, and I'd rather prefer a round optimized for short barrels, like 6x35 KAC, but the idea is that if you chamber a PDW in an intermediate cartridge, you'll have ammo and magazine commonality with the rest of your arsenal, making logistics a lot easier.

CzechBiohazard In reply to Gauntes [2012-04-07 09:54:12 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.

Yeah, I think so too. But, I made this as a Submachine Gun. Although, it looks more like a compact assault, because of the magazine.

Hmmmmm, so why do you distaste bullpups?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gauntes In reply to CzechBiohazard [2012-04-07 10:01:32 +0000 UTC]

I don't hate it, but it seems to sacrifice too much for relatively small gain

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CzechBiohazard In reply to Gauntes [2012-04-07 10:11:12 +0000 UTC]

What does it sacrifice? I guess the reloads might be awkward but you get used to them. I guess, you'd also feel the recoil a lot more, but I have no personal complaints about that. I view bullpups as very useful, especially in Urban and CQB areas. Bullpups are really just a compact version of the standard version firearm.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScrewfaceRomeo In reply to CzechBiohazard [2012-04-07 16:59:35 +0000 UTC]

Actually, the recoil is much more controllable. Because there's no pivot point right behind the recoil source, and because with the position of the stock it can be held better

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CzechBiohazard In reply to ScrewfaceRomeo [2012-04-07 18:14:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I guess so.
