Description
The Jupiter and 119 locomotives at the Golden Spike national park, near Promontory (32 miles west of Brigham City), Utah, via Utah highway 83. While I was there, someone pointed out that the flag doesn't have the right number of stars for May 10, 1869 (20 instead of 37), the spike event. Apparently at the time of the original celebration, the only flag of suitable size for the flag pole was an older (civil war) flag. So to match the old photos of the event, the park continues to fly a 20 star flag (or so the story goes).
