Here's a slightly different version of the other Space: Above and Beyond wallpaper. This one features all the regular members of the squadron.Bottom left: Nathan West(callsign: King of Hearts)
Top left: Paul Wang(Joker), then Shane Vansen(Queen of Diamonds), Cooper Hawkes(Jack of Spades) and Vanessa Damphousse(Ace of Hearts).
I highly recommend this show, it's definitely underrated. I think it won some Emmys but still wasn't picked up for another season- Fox's doing of course! They're such twits.
SPOILER ALERT:
Anyway, the ending is sad, but I think that if it had gone on to a second season, it would have been happier. I think Vansen and Phousse could still be alive! Just my theory. Sad to say, I don't think there's any chance Wang could be alive

This is great. It's been so long since I've watched this show. Luckily, I have it on DVD. Maybe I'll have to revisit it.

I agree. I think Wong and Morgan had planned all along to have one of the 58th die at the end of the 1st season. I think it was their intention to give the show that feeling of realism that's missing from alot of shows that feature the cast of heroes in regular combat. That way, come season 2, no one was wearing plot armor in the minds of the audience. One thing is certain though, that day in space no one heard screaming except the battle cry of Lt Paul Wang
