sundropsight always knew he wanted to have kids someday but with the uncertainty about him from warriors in his new clan, Sundropsight felt the nursery was becoming tense and that their time as caretaker was not appreciated. Certainly no place to raise kits. However, 5 kits in the nursery now had no homes, and torn between becoming a caretaker and warrior, sun took the easy way out, taking them in as their own and moving into the nursery. potato was born alongside 2 of his other siblings as the she-cat who was his bio-parent had been sick and passed a few days after the litter was born, and the tom who supposedly went to clear his head went missing soon after. 8 days later, a single parent dies during kit birth, so sundrop decides to adopt those kits as well.
Potato loved his life in marsh, and his family. they constantly asked questions about the world around them, and their past, but he still knew sundrop loved them as if they were his very own. he loved the fact that his camp was on an island, and longed to explore it. he had a great relationship with his siblings, and datura as well, but he still felt drawn to the other cats in the clan, and loved when the caretakers in the nursery gave him sign language lessons.
A few moons later The clans led an attack on these deer cats called the empire, but despite a few deaths and injuries life went on. They were growing up quite fast, and now were almost too big for the nursery! there was apparently a disease going around the clans, which some of the cats in Marsh had caught. He hoped his 'pa and the rest of his family wouldn't catch it since it seemed dangerous.
The herbalist gave this strange illness a name: wasting disease, and potatokit ended up catching it. It was an awful experience, but the worst part was that they weren't going to be made an apprentice until after they felt better! Potatokit was disappointed, but understood why he couldn't and tried to cooperate with the herbalists.

Potato was made into a 'paw alongside his siblings and assigned ___ as his mentor. ___ seemed (opinion about mentor), but more then that potatopaw was so excited to learn! They asked their mentor so many questions about being a warrior after the ceremony, right before touring the territory. Potato was delighted to see everything in the territory, if not a little overcautious about some landmarks. They respected their mentor and were extremely eager to learn
