Wow, really amazing artwork, love the background and how you used the footprints to help the composition. Also very good job on a detailed and realistic light touching the character!

I've been reading art books on color and lighting to help me with my digital painting but I've been trying to implement what I've learned into my photo-manipulation work as well. I'm glad it comes off as realistic, but I still have a long way to go. Thank you very much for your kind words

You're most welcome. It's a very realistic approach to the highlights and with a very good end result, not too exaggerated and not too soft, which happens often with manips.

Would you mind sharing maybe your favorite book about color? I'd happily give it a go.

Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter by James Gurney is the one I've been reading. No tutorials just a lot of theory and a lot of examples that can most definitely be applied outside of traditional painting. Once I'm done reading my plan is to do studies of all the paintings from the book to get an even better grasp of how light and color work in different settings. So far it's been extremely helpful and I wholeheartedly recommend it

Thank you so much!! It's not too expensive on Amazon, will have to go get it. I do see the improvement big time in your last works, and I know that it's one of my weakest points, so I'm convinced straight away.
