now a product of the nightmare machinary courtesy of The Nightmare Machinary (no.8)THE NIGHTMARE MACHINARY (no.8) is way more tricky. As the name says, it was about a machine which could make nightmares and also turn them into a parallel reality. The machine itself looked a little like a conveyor belt with multiple levels, and was stored in some sort of warehouse, where it was being guarded by creatures being products of the machine itself and taken out the nightmares of various, previous victims. (It wasn't that clear if these creatures were really guarding the machine, probably not, but they were also there and they were not friendly.) Within that warehouse, reality itself was a concept hard to grasp because being in there meant, finding your way through the overlapping parallel nightmare realities of others, from various places and times. One thing I do remember really well though and always just appeared in "the" reality, is that woman whose appearance always "announced" some nightmarish sequence to come... She kinda was the personification of that machine, a really dark, almost weak looking black woman, but with piercing eyes and always veiled entirely in white. Whoever spent too long in her vicinity, would experience time starting to run slower and becoming kinda "sticky" (which you could see), and then after a very limited chance of still escaping, got drawn into a circle of personal nightmares. (At this point I am leaving the actual dream for a moment and simply declare the nightmares produced by the machine to the same form of certain visions I once had, because I think these are fitting their original style really well. They can also be found in the group gallery.) I can also remember a scene with a father and his son, who hated each other and kept fighting all movie long. Somewhere in between, the son managed to get the father into prison because he was a multi-time criminal, but close to the end he was released and they met again, while there was this woman sitting on a bench not too far away from theirs. The father (who should have rather been angry with his son) notices that, turns to his son and just says: "Run." - "Where to?" - "Please..." courtesy of .
