Description This is a smaller version of my scale chart of UNSC and Covenant ships-

I've removed all the larger capital ships to bring the smaller ones into focus.

Update 02- Three more from the Halo Cryptum book, the section depicting the Forerunner attack of a San 'Shyuum quarantine world, the planet's defence force described as several ships in varying sizes and design, the battle cruiser as their attempted equal to the forerunner warships, the smaller support ships(similar in function to UNSC Frigates) and an unusually designed transport seen attempting to flee the sieged planet with an anti gravity propulsion array resembling a jellyfish.

Update01- I've corrected the size of the Covenant Super cruiser from Fall of reach, also added the Forerunner Warship from Halo Wars and Origins I and the Didact's cruiser from Halo Cryptum

Original elements belong to and are copyrighted by Bungie, 343 Industries and Ensemble and will NOT be sold, as print or any other media.

Except we are...the Resistance...

Why do I have the feeling I just came up with the idea for an epic halo story?

Yeah, fighting against overwhelming odds, y'know u could have a side story were a Sangheli commander uncovers the truth the prophets tried to cover up, since a small group of UNSC forces could never overwhelm the entire Covenant Empire but they could with their action set events into motion that would uncover the truth about halo, perhaps have the UNSC Forces uncover some Forerunner assets to help in their fight.
Btw does the Flood exist in this story bare in mind that in halo 3 it was a race against time to stop the rings from being fired and to hold back the Flood, if the UNSC failed and lost earth to the Covenant then the Halos would have eventually been fired and everything would be wiped out.

Actually...they never knew anything about the ARK till they capture 343 Guilty Spark, so since Halo never happen...and they just blindly glass the entire planet, plus UNSC Forces on the ground in the last stand use a NOVA bomb...we were going down...might as well take as many with us as we can.

"For the Lost."

I think the covies did know that the forerunner ship at the heart of High Charity would lead them to the ark as it did almost activate in Halo: Contact Harvest so it would have taken them regardless, they only learned of the Activation Index through 343 GS and that it would activate Halo/begin the Great Journey. On a side note it seams like a plot hole, lets say the Masterchief's/Arbiter's efforts fail at the end of Halo2 and the rings are successfully activated, all life in the galaxy would have been wiped out BEFORE Truth arrived at earth, but then u could say Truth didn't know the rings were lethal but if that was the case what was the point of the flight to earth if the end result was the activation of Halo, kinda confusing.

WHAT! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!,
Lol, I guess u mean the fan fiction, I suppose in this universe a lucky streak doesn't exist since MC isn't the one fighting til the end of the story the UNSC wouldn't have lasted as long.

I wonder if the UNSC Super Carrier is ever going to be shown. It's the largest ship and must have a shit load of fire power.

Nice! The two Forerunner ships are very nice. I wondered what Didact's ship would look like (since those novels don't explain stuff in detail much)

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to drskytower [2011-01-31 08:00:33 +0000 UTC]

yeah, just that it was over a km long and "described as a grey gleaming elongated ovoid" There was a vid on halo waypoint of the book signing that they discussed the possibility of making a kind of art book showing the forerunners armor, ships, etc. Hope they do, cant go wrong, they only risk making even more money, lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

drskytower In reply to D4RKST0RM99 [2011-02-04 07:42:25 +0000 UTC]

Ovoid, sounds like the Forerunners flew around in Sphere Ships (doesn't that sound stupid!) The author seems to have an obsession with circles and round objects when the Forerunner technology and buildings are definitely not egg-shaped, they're all geometric in design Maybe he got the idea from the Halo array (installations being dhuh, round lulz) and the star-shaped Ark.

Ehhh... maybe nawt

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to drskytower [2011-02-04 07:51:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I noticed that too, probably to fit a design need, perhaps to increase its FTL speed or its not a standard forerunner design, just an amalgamation of needed components like engines, weapons, etc and an external hull wrapped around it.
Also recently noticed the download option for this file isn't working, perhaps because the file is too big, gonna try bringing it closer together

drskytower In reply to D4RKST0RM99 [2011-02-04 08:02:33 +0000 UTC]

Your design for the forerunner ship is far better than the description in that novel I like the angular, geometric look of its profile. At leat its not starting to look like a Covenant design (which is all curves and lul, circles)

I'm beginning to believe the Author is being just plain lazy with his descriptions... totally poor and unacceptable when the novel in question is a science fiction

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to drskytower [2011-02-04 08:09:43 +0000 UTC]

thanks which one?

ages ago I did the Forerunner flagship, just as an idea to fill in the ranks of the fleet, never thought they'd do their own in another book and expand on on it

The Didact's ship I think (I've been without a computer all week lol, which is why this comment is so late!)

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to drskytower [2011-02-12 05:01:33 +0000 UTC]

yeah, not sure how to fix it without deviating from the description, perhaps its because its a non-standard design, its only function was to get a crew from A to B to C safely like a rushed job

Fantasy34 In reply to D4RKST0RM99 [2011-01-27 14:55:16 +0000 UTC]

I'm a little surprise that UNSC Battle Cruiser is bigger than the Covenant Battle Cruiser because our ships are smaller than theirs.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to Fantasy34 [2011-01-27 18:46:04 +0000 UTC]

not always, lol, don't think they ask the covies to take measurements of theirs first before designing their own
its usually along set guidelines how it will be built, a balance between size, utilities, armor, weapons, speed and manoeuvrability, weight is a major factor- the engines have to be powerful enough to push the ship forward, the more weapons/armor u add on the heavier it gets- the bigger the engines have to be.

Epic....
but where's the Covenant Flagship. You know the one that had seven bulbous shapes (round or teardrop like), was extremely massive, and it could quite literally dissect a Human Super Carrier from long distance and shot rounds of concentrated plasma at the speed of light.
Basically the best Covenant ship out there. XD

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to Nocte-Vagus [2011-01-26 07:47:35 +0000 UTC]

if you are referring to the one at the battle of harvest its there- the 2km long Cov Battleship.
Perhaps you mean the one from First strike the Ascendant Justice or the super-cruiser from Fall of Reach

Why is it that in loads of movies stories or films about an interstellar war with humanity, that the aliens are always vastly superior? For example: halo, independence day, war of the worlds, Gears of war (even tho they're not really aliens) etc. Except avatar where it was the other way round

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

codytdi In reply to Supercactus777 [2011-05-25 01:10:17 +0000 UTC]

In a show I watched called When Aliens invade The aliens sheilds and armor are strong be cause light travle would require lots of sheildeing because the slightest comet in the drive could break the ship which is why there shields arnt supseptible to bombs necluear or other wise onthe ship plus are plannes woulldent be fast enough to hit them even with rockets but what would win the war would be defeiting high tech with low tech like comakozie mission into the ships and deystroing the ships from the inside out kinda like Gorlias Commbat

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to Supercactus777 [2011-01-19 21:36:38 +0000 UTC]

guess it would kill the tension of the movie if we could defeat the invasion with ease, I think films do it as a whole, the protagonist is brought to his lowest point were all seems lost and is about to lose everything and something happens- ID4 its a computer virus, in Return of the Jedi its Vader rescuing Luke, for war of the worlds its either bacteria or pollutants in the air.
Like in The Matrix the protagonist would feel they have overcame a great obstacle that would change them and begin their lives anew, wouldn't be much fun if right from the start of the movie humanity kicked ass and won the war, the movie would be a lot shorter.

Supercactus777 In reply to D4RKST0RM99 [2011-01-25 19:06:05 +0000 UTC]

But its annoying, Its annoying hearing on halo that to defeat a small number of covenant ships the UNSC lost about 60. How can any military force recuperate from these losses?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to Supercactus777 [2011-01-26 07:31:55 +0000 UTC]

Harsh reality of war, guess the UNSC forces didn't have a choice, either fight back of face extinction, still, its amazing they lasted 20 years considering the covies had hundreds of thousands of ships
