This is some concept art for a race class I came up with for an RP. I call them the Exiles. They are born with an exoskeleton that hides under there skin. They look human, unless you see there back, along the spine you can see a vertebra shaped skeleton on the outside of the back, aside from this they look human. When it is needed spider leg like bones burst from the skin, and cover the body. A second later of skin forms inbeetween them and hardens, competing the exoskeleton.

There skin tissue regenerates rather quickly, evolved that way because of the exoskeleton that rips from there skin. They are unable to hold the exoskeleton for too long, like flexing a mucle you can only do it for so long. in which time the exoskeleton retracts back into the flesh.

EDIT : I went abck and lightend it a bit and touched up a few things in the face and hair. i love how it looks now ^^
