I think you captured the spirit of Godzilla right here. I haven't watched a Godzilla movie since they made that horrible re-imagining in the U.S. Everyone keeps saying its gotten better, but I think I'll stick to what I know is good.

With so many Godzilla movies to pick and choose from you're still bound to find a lot of them that are enjoyable (and just as many that stink, but oh well).

Stranger things have happened to Godzilla...and stranger things will continue to happen, no doubt. I'm not really fazed by much; I figure if I saw Godzilla FLY in 'Godzilla vs the Smog Monster', then I've seen about as much weirdness from him that I'm gonna' see!

I'm not completely sold on Plantzilla myself just yet, especially given we already have a kaiju akin to that, Biollante, who may very well be better suited to whatever they have planned for this version of Godzilla with his "I speak for the trees!" origins lol. Still, I'm gonna give the new anime a chance before I get too upset with it (though on the bright side, I'm less annoyed with the 3D animation aspect of it thanks to this latest revelation lol). Still, every time I think of Godzilla as a saurian shaped super shrub that roars and breathes fire, my skepticism rises XD

I dunno, beginning to wonder if Toho/Japan is just 'taking the piss' as the Brits say anymore with Godzilla. First Shin Godzilla and now Grootzilla

Have to say I rather like this plant based Godzilla, pushing the boat out and trying new things after all these years is really not a bad idea as long as they dont go mad and do a good job.
In a way each of these new Godzilla reprisents an aspect of the original. Legendery is a modern heroic Godzilla, Shin embodies his original self and godzilla's pain nd fury, this one seems to be delving into the other worldy nature of Godzilla as well as well as how such a creature can inflaunce the world.
This is speculastion mind you but given that their are creature in the film that share his DNA and similur looking nature of all the plant life.....this Godzilla has brough a new era of life to the earth. Not just in himself but his DNA has been incoperated into the eco system. The plants and animel like plants are tied to him, Godzilla is literally a Tree of Life. Hell Orga is said to be appearing and I think we can guess in what way now.Β

Not a bad theory at all; part of the appeal of Godzilla is that he can be imagined and interpreted in a myriad of ways. He's been a superhero, a nightmarish allegory, a vicious animal, force of nature, a cipher, a goofball, and on and on. It's all clay in the storyteller's hands.
The results...well, that all depends on HOW those ideas are executed. If it's a well-made film and an interesting take on an old property, then I'm fine with re-imagining Godzilla as most anything. If it's a badly-made film that offers nothing, then we shall shun it and never speak of it again (now let's see how long it takes for someone to mention Devlin & Emmerich's steaming dump...).
