Did you know: The display consists of 240 Ferranti-Packard 5 × 7 flip-dot matrices arranged in an 8 × 30 grid? Also, the giant display uses four controllers to drive the grid in separate 4 × 15 quadrants rather than the entire grid at once to expedite changing from message A to message B, as the displays are multiplexed while being driven.
