"As the name would suggest, the construct generator is a crystalline device capable of utilizing pyrokinetic energy to generate and control 'energy constructs.' When activated, it can deploy these constructs in a number of solid shapes, with varying physical properties (such as mechanical strength, hardness, and toughness) depending on how much energy is sunk into them. The shapes can be levitated in the air using their own energy field, or be pushed with varying degrees of force by the user. On the lighter end, they can be made to float and follow the user around. On the heavier end, they can be shot forward with tremendous force, making them into a kind of projectile weapon. Conversely, they can be set in the air and remain relatively stable, applying their own force to resist being pushed or pulled from their set position by external forces.

In testing, many applications of these devices have been found: as a tool, a weapon and a potential method of handling conflicts in a non-lethal manner. For example, the constructs can form into shields to block, deflect, or stagger an assailant, then a number of other constructs like metal cuffs can be used to physically restrain them. For the average low-to-medium level threat, the assailant will likely struggle to escape these restraints, allowing for a relatively peaceful de-escalation of the situation. On those with proficiency in pyrokinetics, these constructs may struggle to restrain them for very long. In such cases, use of physical force may be necessary to capture them."
