For Valentine's Day, I drew hearts, and I drew flowers. But the one that made me the most happy was making this tiny pear the size of a toonie. I was using markers and pencil crayons, experimenting with colour and shade. It doesn't even look much like a pear. It's simple, but I think that's why I like it. I didn't expect too much out of it, and yet it made me the proudest I've been in a long time with my art.
I haven't submitted anything in months. Heck, I probably haven't submitted anything in other a year. So here you go. A simple pear. It will be kept safe in my sketchbook.
I know this drawing will slip into the void of dA, but I wonder if anyone else feels pressure to make great art every time, like I do. I want this pear to represent something: being able to be happy with the simplest drawings you make, as well as the complicated ones.
