Description
A hand - painted miniature of Alcyon, an NPC death knight / swordsmaster / warrior from my D&D campaign.
Knights of Twilight – contrary to their antagonists, Knights of Dawn (or Paladins) – wrote their history in blood and destruction, earning themselves the fear – inspiring title of the Doomsday Crusaders. Alcyon was one of their generals during the Great War of Darkness many centuries ago. After the fall of Frekom Warros, his master, Alcyon’s spirit lingered among the Outer Planes until one day – due to a series of unfortunate events – he found himself bound to a spirit of one iron – willed ranger, Mith of Caledwen. Shocked and humiliated by this turn of events, Alcyon devised a cunning plan to free himself from this ridiculous body and embrace reincarnation in the only form worthy of a Templar – a Steel Dominium, a special suit of armor created to contain a spirit of a fallen warrior. Here you can see him triumphantly reincarnated as the Knight of Twilight. He stands upon the partly ruined altar of Frekom’s Cathedral in the city of Orh - Insael. An imposing, double - handed sword is within his reach – it’s the legendary Thorn of Ice, a powerful blade once wielded by one of the angelic generals, later fallen into enemy hands and befouled. Thorn of Ice is an intelligent weapon that radiates cold – thus the icy spikes surrounding it. This miniature is hands down my favorite mini so far
