Description

Tecna’s dress was originally inspired by this ( www.irisvanherpen.com/collecti… ) but after a month or two between sketches I completely forgot what the original dress looked like… it’s realy funny because I vividly remember the second I saw the dress I was like ”OMG! THAT’S IT! THAT DRESS IS SO TECNA I MUST DRAW HER IN IT!” And I never did. My first sketch draft had a similar silhouette and … flowy bits... but I made the decision to not look at the original inspiration so that it wouldn’t influence the final design.

For the final design I referenced both Art Deco and circuit board patterns the end result being a mash up between the two with a cyberpunk/alien/goddess vibe.

Her earrings are probably my favorite part of this outfit, they just complete the whole look for me. (and the head ornament that you cant see from the front...)

Colors are always fun but tedious. Thankfully, when it comes to the Winx girls, choosing colors is made easy as they all have a variety of well established pallets I can pick and choose from. Tecna’s is always a mix of purple, greens and magenta/fuchsia… and that one time navy/denim blue.
