These are four fractal tilings I constructed having experimenting a bit with the concept. I was just exploring the possibilities out of curiosity, without any intention to make it a piece of art. Then I noticed how Celestia's cutie mark would perfectly fit into the tiling I was working on. This encouraged me to investigate what tilings would work for the other princesses.

Working in Luna's cutie mark was a bit less obvious as it has no obvious symmetry. I had to take some liberties with the dark cloudy part to adapt it to the 8-fold symmetry. This fractal turned out as my favourite one, with the moons all nicely oriented around the centre.

Cadance was no doubt the hardest one. My first attempt was a 5-fold symmetrical version, which sort of worked, but had a much less interesting overall shape. I ditched it in favour of this more intricate 12-fold fractal.

All four constructions are based on the same principle. The twilight one is in fact derived from a tessellation with the Koch snowflake , while the others are adaptations for higher order symmetries.
