Description
She was born to a small family, in a fishing town off the coast of the White Sea. The slight red tint of her auburn hair gave her the name of Janine. She lived in a relatively small hut near the edge of town with her parents. Like her folks, Janine is what is known as a cat folk, or neko. Her brown ears and tail jutted out of her back and head, respectively; her bright hazel eyes sparkled with hidden enchantment and joy. Now, the village wasn't incredibly wealthy or large back then, but what it did have was diversity. Folks of all cloths came to seek work and the bounties of the sea, from rough and tumble sailors to refined merchants, from the weak and cowardly neera to the strong and stoic dog people. The hustle and bustle of traffic stomping to and fro across the streets, from the residential district to the marketplace, or to the government districts, beat a stubborn, steady beat at all hours of the day, with the sun seeming to smile down at the structures. The nearby forests provided much needed lumber for ships and store alike, while a quarry in a not too distant mountain surrendered it's yield of semi precious stones and rock, to make the cobblestone streets.
Years passed. It was at the age of fourteen when things started to get a little unusual. It was nothing overt, but Janine could smell it. Humans had always been a part of the daily life; whether it be for work, or traveling to another town, it was common to find a few of the pale folk traveling the streets. Never had Janine smelled so many all at once, however; it seemed almost as though they were gathering.

"Myaaaa!" the tan feline yelped, tumbling out of her bed to avoid the onslaught of day light as her mother opened the curtains. "Mom! I'm trying to get some sleep!" she whined, going faint crimson as she stood up, sheepishly. The feline's small, supple chest was easily contained by her long cotton night shirt. She frowned wide, walking over to her dresser to pull out a pair of shorts and a tank top.
"Now now dear, it's time for all good kittens to wake up," her mom, Carryl, teased. Soft slippers padded across the wood paneling as she patted her daughter's head, planting a kiss on her cheek. "Alright, come on then. It's time for breakfast."
"Alright, alright..."Janine grumbled, giving a shake of her head. She followed the woman through the house to the kitchen, where her father sat waiting. The first few notes of silver hairs stood out amidst the backdrop of midnight black. He sat at the table, working on a plate of eggs and sausage. He turned his clear blue eyes up to regard the girl with a small grin, giving a welcoming nod.
"Chester, how've things been at the warehouse?" Carryl pondered, stroking her own light red locks as she let her ears lay flat. "Is it really true that humans have been more common lately?" She picked at her own food rather slowly, peering at the male with a plaintive frown. Next to her, Janine ate ravenously, eagerly and gleefully tearing at the food on her plate.
"Yeah... rumors have it that they're planning some kind of strike against the rest of our kind, but... there's been nothing concrete yet. Who knows? Maybe they really do intend to be docile this time around." Chester deflected the look with a reassuring grin as he leaned over to plant a kiss on the top of Carryl's head, chuckling lightly. "Don't worry so much... everything'll be just fine. I promise! If worse comes to worst, I'll protect you two with my life."
"Darling..." Carryl chuckled lightly, leaning forward to plant a return kiss on his lips as she nuzzled right on in, a deep, audible thrumming echoing from her throat as she took his hand, and rubbed it against her cheek. "Alright... if you're that sure about it, I'll believe in you."
"Mom! Seconds please!" Janine clamored, licking her chops as she let out a loud, happy meow, rubbing her stomach. "This tastes so good!"
"Careful dear, if you eat too much, it'll go straight to your thighs!" The matron teased as she doled out another portion.
"Think it might be too late for that." The father looked up at the clock as he chuckled, taking one last sip of his coffee. "I'll see you two later, I need to get going for work now."
"DAAAD! There's nothing wrong with my figure, I'm only fourteen!" the youngling whimpered, lowering a hand to rub at her hips. Granted, she'd been having to buy a new pair of shorts every other week lately, but it was completely natural for that to happen, right? Surely she wasn't getting fat... right? "You're mean!"
Carryl chuckled teasingly as she flicked Janine on the forehead, the woman standing up to brush out her long dress, and scratch at her ears. "Now now dear, don't worry too much about it, I'm sure it's just a passing thing. Now go play, ok?"
"Yes mom!"
The young girl ran out of the house with excitement building in her chest, the hardened leather of her shoes clopping against the ground with every step she made as she cast her gaze to and fro. "Jang! Cleivan!" she yelled out, tapping her toes against the ground with consternation as she sighed. "Don't tell me you guys left without me already! That's mean!" Her tail writhed in irritation as she kicked a nearby oak tree. She winced in pain, whining as she hopped on one foot. "Aaaah! That hurt!"
The leaves were just starting to turn yellow with the changing of the seasons, though summer's heat still clung tenaciously to the land. "I swear, if they really did ditch me, I'm gonna-!"
"Hey, watch that kid!"
"Don't let 'im get away!"
"God damn trickster!"
Above the din of roaring bass echoed a lighthearted, almost teasing chuckle, as though a child had just pulled a particularly mischievous prank.
"Hahah! Hey, calm down guys! No need to raise a ruckus!"
Janine stared in blank shock as a person dashed around a street corner, heading right for her! "What in th-" The boy had shoulder length silver hair, but that wasn't what had caught her attention. A pair of bright orange fox ears stuck out from his head, but she paid them no mind. Three fox tails waved through the air just behind him, but they weren't what caused her concern. No, what had piqued her interest was one very simple fact.
"Aaaah! Hey, watch out!"
He was running right towards her.
The collision knocked both off of their feet, the duo landing hard on Janine's tush with mingled cries of pain and surprise, the boy rolling off to catch his breath. He stood up after a few moments, offering his hand to the girl next to him; "Hey, you ok? Sorry, didn't mean to bump into you!"
"Hey! Wha- who are you??" the feline asked in surprise, just as a group of five humans surrounded the pair, carrying long, sharp looking blades in their hands.
Immediately each man pointed their blade straight at the boy's throat, leaving little doubt about what they planned to do. "Finally caught up to ya, kitsune scum! How dare you insult our leader like that!"
"Hey hey hey, calm down kids, I didn't mean anything by it. But, really, would it kill him to take a shower once every so often? He reeks!" The boy's tone carried a subtle hint of fright, but the taunting, even malicious expression on his face was clear as crystal.
"Why you! I'm gunna gut ya and rip those god damn girly eye balls outta yer head while ya'r still livin'!" the human roared in anger his fist tightening and pulsing repeatedly as he pulled it back. "I'll knock ya block off!"

"Oh, wow! You must've been so scared when that happened!" The auburn's feline's companion, a relatively small mouse girl with big round eyes, and a decidedly flat body, interrupted with a loud squeak, biting at her lips with fright in her eyes as she sat down.
"Irk... I'm getting there I'm getting there, calm down, don't interrupt!" Janine grumbled through gritted teeth, rubbing her face with a sigh. She was nineteen now, a beautiful, youthful girl just brimming with energy and pep, but it did get a bit annoying when she was interrupted mid sentence. "Ugh... if you aren't gonna stay calm and listen to my story, then why in the world did you ask me why I hang around with this idiot?" Despite the fact that she jutted a finger behind her, there was no immediate evidence of anyone else in the vicinity. Ugh... why did her companion have to be such a god damn good samaritan?
A sudden burst of movement from directly underneath the sitting feline brought a sudden blush to those tan cheeks, while a pair of small hands slapped rather desperately against the kitty's stomach! From between her rather large, soft, plush butt cheeks, a few wrangled groans of pain and desperation sounded. It was at this point that the mouse thought to glance behind the seated girl, putting a hand to her lip thoughtfully as she regarded the humanish shape that jutted out from between them. The one foot tall mouse walked around Janine's sides, reaching a hand up to poke at one of those mounds.
"These are so big! Like... it would take four or five of me to form a fence around them! How did you get your booty so big, miss?" the mouse asked innocently, before she poked the protruding body. The flat chest and general uniformity in it's dimensions made her think that it was a guy, but she couldn't see anything over his chest; Janine's rump was too big! "Why are you hiding your friend's head with your butt?" she asked curiously, tiling her head as she walked back around. Nope... she couldn't see a bit of the victim's hair or ears sticking out from the other side of the girl, either!
Janine was about to answer when she felt the boy's face beneath her shift subtly, which in turn caused his nose and cheeks to brush across the kitty's tight leather shorts. A wave of pleasure wormed it's way up Janine's spine as she moaned. "N-Nnn! Hey! He drags me with him all over the world to do stupid and dangerous stunts! This is the least he can do for me!" she huffed, gritting her teeth as she sighed.
She wasn't all too sure, but she could've sworn that just as she was about to take a breath to continue, she felt more then heard the kitsune beneath her say, "...I resent that..." in an extremely muffled voice.
"...Oh hush, Hayate. You know it's true!"
