Another reptilian predator endemic to Moonshire Island, and the top predator of the Moonshire swamps

Twice the size of even the largest ogres, Trask-Skraks possess powerful jaws, bone-crushing tusk-like teeth, muscular bodies and tails, and keen senses. Unlike ogres, who are dim-witted, Trask-Skraks are relatively intelligent, as they can understand some level of human speech, if they hang around long enough, or if hand-raised and trained. However, due to their ferocious nature, very few people are lucky enough to even raise one.

They live in small groups of up to 5 or 7, consisting mostly of females, with 1 or 2 males, and an alpha male, the largest of the group. During the mating season, males will compete for the rights to the females, using their enlarged cheek-tusks and brute strength to try and overpower their opponent. Some of these fights can lead to death, and the winner will even turn cannibal, given the chance. When mothers are raising offspring, they will ferociously defend them at any cost, even sacrificing her own life to save them.

Unfortunately, Trask-Skraks are an endangered species, as there are very few left in the wild, due to competition for food and territory; poaching for their teeth, tusks and armor; and slow breeding rates. One of the last specimens born, a hand-raised young adult male named Ark, is one piece of hope that the species will last just a little longer before extinction
