Description
Technique: I found this Miner Bee passed out in one of my flowers before sunset. Since I planned to stay up late I waited until around Midnight to photograph it hoping the temps would cool down and the critter would stay asleep. Although it did wake up and walk around a Lavender stalk I just waited until it settled back down to photograph it. I placed an artificial flower in the background to keep it from being black.Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 200 with highlight tone priority) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (around 4x) + a diffused MT-24EX (both flash heads on the Canon flash mount, E-TTL metering with -1 2/3 FEC). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

I've been shooting off and on since 89, and this is my tenth straight year shooting macro. When peeps tell me that they wish they had my gear I tell them that what they really want is my experience

Thats something young people will never get, you also need experience to know where to start. A fast car doesn't make you a good driver.
