Good work.... but is it just me or is this strangely erotic? I hope it's not just me....

yeah i guess in away, with the tunnel down the bottom but it was not intentional until it was nearly done, some times they paint themselves

My initial response to this is WOW!
I used to use acrylic paints with an airbrush.
I am currently on the look out for an airbrush. I think it will be the key for me to start working with colour again.
How big is this?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DaleKeogh In reply to knotty-inks [2010-03-01 15:00:45 +0000 UTC]

it's fairly big about 200cm x 120cm

wow! that is pretty big, would look great as a back-drop with a bit of lighting on it.

I can't believe this is a painting! Everything is so smooth and perfect it looks like something digital. Just awesome. I am jealous.

it's air brushed, you get a smooth result, but often blurred as well

This is fantastic. I guess as a female I'm inclined to dislike some of your work... but I wont deny you have fantastic artistic talent

DaleKeogh In reply to echoisms [2009-11-17 10:18:26 +0000 UTC]

thanks, i use the female form in my more horrific stuff, because the are easier on the eye for me and i like to look at the female face and body, probably due to me being male myself, and dudes just don't cut it for me, and when i do draw or paint a guy it just doesn't look as good as a picture of a woman, i don't hate women or any thing, but i guess its a bit like the stereotype for chicks and horror, i don't know i just like chicks, sorry for the essay. i'm not even sure i got my point across.

haha no i understand completely.
i think i may have taken some of your artworks in the wrong way; not looking at the horrific side of it enough. but fair enough

I'm wondering what your process was for this, did you draw everything out with rulers and crazy stuff - or did you just have at it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DaleKeogh In reply to alice-anne [2008-08-12 06:45:12 +0000 UTC]

i used an airbrush, and i wacked out some circles and "shelled" them, alot of spirals were put in, trying to get the snail shell feel, a lot of it was kinda a mindless patten kinda thing, but i had an idea of what i was after, like a organic machine, thanks for asking, theres a simular one i did in the late 90's, i should look for, which i was equally happy with, ill wack it up to today if i can find a photo of it.

alice-anne In reply to DaleKeogh [2008-08-12 08:47:35 +0000 UTC]

I understand doing patterns and stuff like that, I recently had to make it look like a wall was filled with gravel. Which is a great deal of mindless repetitive tasks. But it looks fantastic now.
It really does look like an organic machine. I think I was trying to find that expression in my head when I was looking at it and I couldn't find it -- but that perfectly describes what it looks like.

That's awesome. I love the textures and colours used and the shine it has to it.

It creeps me out, and that's why i like it. : D
