Description

Institute of Applied Exophysics (Институт Прикладной Экзофизики), often called simply Institute, was initially founded as scientific branch of 7th Special Office of NKVD (People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs, Народный Комиссариат Внутренних Дел), that supervised all thing supernatural in newborn Soviet state. Organisation's job was securing, containing, studying and covering any and all supernatural phenomenas - the last part was most important, because the very existance of supernatural contradicted several basic principals of communistic ideology.

During 1991, not long before the fall of USSR, organisation (during that time known as KGB's 14'th Deparment) suffered catastrophic damage from source unknown, some force just collapsed subspace domain where organisation's HQ was located, and whole organisation was presumed destroyed... However, it was not entirely true.

Secretly, survivers of the organisation's destuction reestablished themselves, working now on prinicples of network organisation, outside of government control - as the new astrological age, Age of Aquarius, foretells the Great Awakening...

Institute was a centerpiece organisation of (presumed) first Russian PnP RPG, "Age of Aquarius".
