Description
There are moments, even for the Forsaken, when redemption is close enough to taste.See! See! Adenydd is happy sometimes! I promise!
I'm pretty darn happy with this picture. While organizing my art supplies and dating my sketchbooks, I came across a little scrap of paper from over a year ago. It was one of my first concepts for Adenydd. I was so thrilled to find it. I was actually thinking of moving more towar this style long ago, but decided it was too cutsie. So I didn't.
But, having found it, I decided it was too cute to leave alone. So I lightboxed it onto good paper, drew a body and went to work coloring it. I'm really very happy with all of it... I'm slowly starting to get the hang of these markers. Original will probably be for sale soon. For now I'm going to drool over the cuteness.
Technical pens, Copic Markers, watercolors, brush and white ink on marker paper.
Adenydd is mine, don't touch.

I love it. x) Though it seems like the bridge of the nose is a bit sunken in, is it a feature of the character? ><; Sorry for ignorance. >>; <<; Overall, nicely done. ^^

I actually that days ago, but have only found now the time to give it a proper comment on it.
I adore it to pieces.
I love the βlightβ colours for the backgroundβ¦the little sparks make it nearly alive.
But the best in the whole picture are the wings. I like the fact that they are just βhangingβ in the air and are not an actually part of the body, really beautiful.
A really expressive drawingβ¦well and thatβs the reason I it
Ohhhβ¦ohhhβ¦.and Congratulation on you award

Very cute style. It reminds me of something, yet it's different and original. I can't quite place it, but I know I like it. Your markering is getting better and better, so keep it up!
This scene with him does make him look really happy. It's like it's snowing out and everything is so white and pure that Adenydd forgets his troubles and almost thinks he's in heaven again (hence the unattached almost illusionary wings.) You're a sly one!

I love this one. In my opinion, it is one the best pictures done of him. The choice of color is great, too. It sets the mood nicely, which isn't overly happy, but more of a contentment. Ah yes, wings are a great touch, too.

Goodness this looks good damphy! You are getting so damned good at rendering with markers. But what gets me with this picture is the expression on his face. It's priceless...purely and truely priceless. I told myself when I saw this thumbnail..."now this is something that I have to come back and fav.."
Awesome art!

He's happy Yeaah, your character is very cute and it's nice to see him so happy. It's a lovely picture, I like how you done the background, soft colors. And you drew him lovely as always, very nice and the coloring looks priceless! Good work!

LoL! The first thing I thought of when I saw the name of this piece was "We had joy, We had fun, We had Seasons in the Sun!" Because my sister's b/f d/led that song Nirvana style. So this will forever remind me of that.. and visa versa.

Awww, how sweet ^^ I can admit it does well to show a more blissful moment upon Adenydd himself, and the expression adds to the more tranquil nature around it. If anything I almost thought his nose was a bit too big, but I am still happy with what it's like.

Oooo it looks REALLY god, Damphie. I like the gradiation in the background, and you did a really good job on coloring the skin and made some great touches on the lips. The faded wing and the little feather are also a nice touch

o.o Dear Lord, that profile is just too cute and rounded and CUUUUUTE for words - he looks so sweet and happy and hopeful that I almost want to cry. The shading is most rich and beautiful, and the background variation is really good - I love the sparkles. YAY SPARKLES.
If you do sell the original, I want dibs. ;o;

Oooooo, did you get your new markers? HUH?! HUH?!!
Wow, I love the colouring. There is such detail in there, and the variety leaves me drooling. (Don't worry! I have a bib....somewhere). I love that in the flesh, you made sure to add the hints of pink in the blush, and in other sections to make him look more realistic, despite the illustrative style. I love that mixture of realism, and minimalism.
Whoops.
Did I mention I love the yellow highlights in the hair? Did I? Hehe. Anyways, it really ties into the lovierly background (yes, lovierly is a technical term). I am blown away by the bg. It's stunning. Yes, stunning. The soft watercolors really mixes nicely with the more firm and solid markers. It helps Addenydd stand out.
The whitewashed look, and the wings when close up, looks more of an after thought. Part of the snow (ooooh lovely repetitive pattern). Normally I wouldn't be liking him in center with the simple layout, but due to the happy carefree nature of the picture, I can enjoy it, because HE IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE.
*pinches his cheeks, on his face-- perv . *

Nice touch with the wings, I gotta say. Sets a nice effect with the whole "fading into his back" thing.
...and, erm, this might sound a little dumb, but...am I seeing snow in this picture or am I not looking at it right?

It's supposed to be little sparkles of light... but those are really hard to render with brush and ink.
