Description
This is Sally B, she's a B-17G Flying Fortress once used by the USAAF (United States Army Air Force).The B-17 was flown by a crew of 10 including 2 Pilots, Navigator, Bombardier/Nose Gunner, Flight Engineer/Dorsal Turret Gunner, 2 Waist Turret Gunners, 1 Ball Turret Gunner and 1 Tail Gunner.
Defensive armament was heavy, a total of 13 12.7 mm M2 Browning Machine Guns, 2 in chin, dorsal, ball and tail turrets, 1 in cheek, waist and radio compartment.
She could carry a 17,600 lb bomb load.
Talking of you will see the weapons bay open in front of the ball turret.
The Flying Fortress is powered by 4 Wright R1820-97 Cyclone 1,200 hp Turbosupercharged Radial Piston Engines.
