Description Warmth

Author’s Note: Just a little brain drain Ficlet thing I wrote in between drawing.

OooooO

She sits on the stone tiles, coiled tightly, her unblinking eyes at rest yet seeing all that passes her. Her diamond back rose slowly with each breath as she absorbed the heat of the desert sun.

Deaf to her surroundings, but able to feel her adversary approaching her, she snaps to attention, tongue testing the air, rattle shaking a warning at the heat waves that fell into her vision.

Quick as a flash, she was grabbed around the back of the neck, quicker that she could strike. It wasn’t tight enough to hurt, but tight enough so that she can’t bite the hand that’s holding her; she is lifted from her sun warmed resting place, rattle never slowing its warning.

As she is carried off a short way, away from the warmed tiles she loved, and let go into the grass, she wondered why she had to be moved. All she wanted was to share the warmth that the Humans had. It not like she was going to hurt anybody.

She slithered off, diamond markings blending into the sun dried grass as she moved. She was going to have to find her warmth some other way.
