Description
The Immortals are the Amazon Empire's most elite infantry unit. They are called 'Immortals' not because they are exempt from death (on the contrary, they are often thrown into the most heated fighting where they certainly do die!), but because the unit's complement is kept at 1,000 warriors at all times. For Amazon warriors, it is the highest honor to be appointed to this unit and is a recognition of that warrior's skill and warlike ardor. Their mere presence can fill a flagging company's warriors with renewed vigor and instil terror in enemies. Their heavy shields and long swords make them heavy infantry and an assault by these warriors can instantly break an enemy line. We like to say in the USA, when things get tough, 'Send in the Marines!' For the Amazons, when the battle gets tough, they send in the Immortals!
